Overview
The Sage Suite- 55 Hasell Street, Apartment C -

Welcome to Ansonborough, one of Charlestons most coveted, historical neighborhoods, situated in the heart of downtown Charleston, only minutes on foot to King Street, East Bay Street, the Gaillard, MUSC, College of Charleston, the best shopping and restaurants in the city, and with easy access to Sullivans Island and West Ashley for antiquing and the historic sites.

The full top floor of a grand 1840 single house, the apartment has views of the city in three directions for romantic sunrises and sunsets. By day, light floods into the large classical rooms which have been sensitively restored to honor the original character including 11-foot beamed ceilings, two impressive brick (non-working) fireplaces, heart pine floors, and large windows. This apartment was recently furnished by local interior designer Alecia Stevens.

The apartment includes a private landing at the top of the stairs (3rd floor from street level), an Entry, a large Living Room with sofa, lounge chairs, table for work or dining for 4, drinks tables and good lighting. Cabinetry provides storage, a bar, books, a Smart TV and includes a work space near a sunny western window looking out over the city.

The Bedroom is equally large and includes a King Bed, a ceiling fan, good lighting and a writing table for working privately. Bedding is all white cotton and linen. The three closets and antique chest provide especially generous storage.

The kitchen has been newly renovated with high-end stainless appliances, white cabinets, soapstone countertops and a pot rack, all while keeping the original brick wall and beamed ceilings intact. It is well-equipped for cooking and comfortable for two to work side by side with guests sitting nearby.

The extra-large bathroom includes a vanity, medicine cabinet, storage cabinet and full sizer washer/dryer, all cotton white towels, bath mats and supplies.

Also included is a private parking space behind a secured gate near the garden area of the property, where a table is provided to enjoy a glass of wine or morning coffee.

While there are abundant opportunities to rent in Charleston for extended stays and live like a local, few will have the historic integrity of this charming apartment. Decorated in an eclectic style with the help of a local designer, the furnishings include a mix of modern and antiques, a book collection, antique mirrors, rugs, textiles, and original art.

** Please note this apartment has a 3 month minimum due to HOA regulations **
** Must climb stairs **
** Pets approved on a case by case basis with a $250 per pet non refundable fee **

The Neighborhood: Ansonborough
Ansonborough is known for its stately red-brick historic homes, mostly dating to the mid-1800s, along streets lined with palmetto and oak trees. Buzzy Southern restaurants, upscale seafood spots, and bakeries cluster on Market Street, while the elegant Charleston Gaillard Center stages Broadway shows and big-name concerts. The nearby waterfront offers the South Carolina Aquarium and ferry trips to Fort Sumter.

Cleaning Protocol:
Our Housekeeping Team members clean and sanitize all hard surfaces of our vacation homes, including but not limited to floors, countertops, railings, sink faucets, appliances, doorknobs, and light switches. The quality of disinfectants we use should remove 100 percent of the microscopic organisms on surfaces, and effectively stop the spread of disease and viruses. Linens and towels are laundered offsite at our linen facility. There is no evidence to suggest that this particular coronavirus will survive the wash chemistry and temperatures in the wash and dry process. All soiled linens are treated as if they are contaminated.
Our housekeeping staff is trained to use the best hygiene practices at all times. With the combination of these best practices, our employees, clients, and guests should be safe from the spread of coronavirus.
